Sand Dragons are governed more by their animal instincts than their draconic intellect: they act on impulse, are ferocious, and have little patience for intruders in their domain. They prefer to dwell in hot lairs deep underneath the sands, where they hoard loot obtained by attacking passing caravans, collecting ancient riches belonging to lost civilizations, and accumulating wreckage from the ruins of humanoid settlements. Despite their keen senses, the Sand Dragon is blind and senses subtle tremors in the sands in a melee space; its true seeing ability reveals illusions per the spell as normal. Their breath weapon is a searing blast of heat and sand that blinds as well as ignites victims, while incinerating armor like acid. Sand Dragons tend to coexist with Wild animals that well in the desert, who serve them out of fear or because the Sand Dragon serves as a deterrent to other predators.
