Prismatic Dragons are enigmatic watchers from the Astral Veil, who live among humanoids by shapeshifting and observing society from the vantage point of society’s most menial servants. They are fascinated by the course of history in the realms, and, in their true forms, have boisterous and theatrical personalities. They advocate for the collective welfare of the realms in which they reside, and prefer non-violent solutions to protecting ecosystems in which such societies exist from being exploited. A Prismatic Dragon’s breath weapon effects 3 different maleficences (the GM rolls randomly when the monster is first encountered), the perils of which are applied simultaneously to victims. They derive sustenance from light and are weakened by shadow. Their lairs are often magical donjons or pocket dimensions they retreat to on occasion, where they amass hoards of cultural artifacts collected from different realms in the Astral Veil. There, their allies take refuge, which are typically Astral monsters of a compatible ethos with the dragon, who live in their donjon in exchange for serving the dragon when it is in need.
