Black Dragons are sneaky, irascible, solitary, and hateful. They use camouflage and survivalist tactics against their enemies. They’re typically smaller than other dragons, and only cooperate with other dragons to mate. While Black Dragons do not like to keep servants or share their domain with others, Wild monsters that live in blights (Deepspawn or Catoblepas, as examples) often form unspoken alliances with Black Dragons because the dragons are powerful deterrents against outsiders who may encroach upon their domain. In exchange, the Black Dragon lets such creatures coexist with them unmolested. Their lairs are fetid and full of muck and poisonous flora. Their hoards contains the acid-washed skeletons of their victims and whatever magical treasure they carried. The blood of a Black Dragon is acidic and often used in alchemy; its scales can be fashioned into weapons or armors with immunities related to its boons.
