Phases
- Spirit Jar (Dying):
When the monster dies, its spirit returns to its native realm, or to a magical receptacle that binds it (see the monster's description). Once its spirit is thus vouchsafed, the monster may later reincarnate in the material realm after a specified period of time. Destroying the monster's spirit permanently requires A) killing the monster in its native realm, or B) performing a special ritual that binds the spirit in order to later exorcise it, at the GM's discretion.
Lore
TBD
The Succubus / Incubus is inherently sexless, and can adopt any sex at will, per the spell Shapeshift. The monster, being a manifestation of the corrupted lust of mortals, seeks to intermix its demonic seed with humankind, which can result in the birth of Cambion. The monster can impregnate both the male and female sex in any mortal species, and victims thus impregnated will bring a Cambion to term, whether or not their physiology supports a pregnancy. Such pregnancies almost always result in the death of the birthing person.
The demon’s touch imparts a curse that effects the spell Charm (Person, Undead, or Monster) on the victim as a major peril. A charmed victim is not broken out of his charm even if his allies are attacked or the demon causes harm to him; in effect, the curse is irreversible except through a contested check to exorcise the demon’s influence and thereby lift the curse (by an appropriately skilled thaumaturge opposed to the demon’s ethos, and at the GM’s discretion), or by slaying the demon itself.
The demon also likes to form psychic bonds with its victims, especially when the victim is particularly resistant to corruption, or if the victim is instrumental in the demon’s larger schemes. A psychic bond can be formed via a willing tryst with the demon, or if the victim willingly accepts a (magical) gift from the demon if any kind.
